My Original ACEO

ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals), a specific size of artwork that measures 2.5 X 3.5 inches. Very collectible item to keep in an album, or display them on your fridge, group them in a wall montage or display alone. Very flexible art form and a way to inexpensively own original art.

This is one of a kind, an ACRYLIC painting on sturdy 140 lb. watercolor paper. It is titled, signed and dated on the back. It comes in a plastic sleeve for its protection. The painting is actually mounted on a vintage playing card.

This is an original painting, not a print.

I was inspired by wonderful art pottery from the 1940s
art nouveau period.
Clarice Cliff was a famous British artist that created many unusual and beautiful pottery works.
Today her pottery pieces sell for very high prices. I love the look of her art but can't afford her pottery.... so I painted this butterfly inspired by some of her work.
I hope you enjoy this butterfly as much as I do.....

We will NEVER forget......

September 11, 2001.
We shall never forget
We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears
In our minds, our memory and our hearts
and take them with us as we carry on.

Matt and Jackie go fishing.

The chinook salmon is blue-green on the back and top of the head with silvery sides and white ventral surfaces. It has black spots on its tail and the upper half of its body; its mouth is dark gray. Adult fish range in size from 33 to 36 inches (840 to 910 mm), but may be up to 58 inches (1.47 meters) in length; they average 10 to 50 pounds (4.54 to 22.7 kg), but may reach 130 pounds (59 kg). The current sport caught World Record is 97 pounds 4 ounces (44.1 kg) and was caught in May 1985

Matt and Jackie joined in the Salmon Fishing Derby in the south sound.
Both landed large 18+ pound King Salmon.

So long summer...it's been great!!

We built a fire in the backyard last night. There is a bit of fall in the air.

The yard is always the most beautiful in September, the squash vines have started to turn yellow and some of the leaves on the Mt Ash have turned orange and started to fall...DARN IT..... Summer goes so quick. We grew scarlett runner beans in pots and trellis this year. They bloom a great bright red and put on a really big bean pod with the coolest burgundy and white large beans. Fun and easy...... Won't be long and we'll have to put away the pink flamingos.

LIBERACE.... a flashback in time....

I bet you have never seen this guy on a blog before.... Liberace.....

When we were kids and TV was new there were only a few programs on the tube, and only one or two channels..... Anyway - one of the programs was the Liberace Show.....others were Lassie/Bonanza/Father Knows Best/I Love Lucy and The Howy Doody Show.....I put a YouTube on the sidebar of Liberace playing Carmen's Boogie--it's a hoot....

Liberace was an international superstar dating back to the early 1950s. The 1978 Guinness Book of World Records identified Liberace as the world's highest paid musician.
