I actually remember when it was dangerous to eat SPAM...not because of the fat and animal parts made up SPAM but because you had to open the metal can with a key(the key was welded onto the bottom of the can). The key wound around the top and you ended up with a strip of sharp metal, that wasn't enough....then the edge of the can was like a razor blade. After you finally got it open then you had to get the SPAM out and then Mom would slice it up and fry it in the black cast iron skillet.
